Join Us for a Spooktacular Stitch or Treat at Sew ’N Sweep!

Calling all sewists, makers, and Halloween lovers! You’re invited to a delightfully spooky Stitch or Treat celebration at Sew ’N Sweep.

Join us on October 17 from 6:00–8:00 p.m. for an evening filled with sewing inspiration, hands-on activities, a costume contest, creative demonstrations, and vintage Halloween fun. Whether you’re an experienced maker or have never touched a sewing machine, there will be something for you to enjoy.

Pick Up Your Stitch or Treat Passport

When you arrive, you’ll receive your own vintage-inspired Stitch or Treat Passport. Travel around the store, visit each activity station, and collect a stamp along the way.

Your passport adventure includes:

1. Make-and-Take Project

Sit down at one of our sewing machines and create a small Halloween project to take home. Our team will be available to guide you, so beginners are welcome!

2. Embroidery-Machine Demonstration

Watch an embroidery machine work its magic as an ordinary piece of fabric becomes a festive Halloween design. See how embroidery designs are selected, positioned, and stitched—and get a closer look at the creative possibilities of machine embroidery.

3. Guess That Sewing Tool

Are you brave enough to reach into our mystery table?

Put on a blindfold, feel the mystery sewing tool, and try to identify it without peeking. You may know your scissors from your seam ripper—but can you recognize them using only your sense of touch?

4. Haunted Sewing-Room Photo Area

Step into our haunted sewing room for a frightfully fun photo opportunity. Pose among vintage sewing machines, pumpkins, thread, fabric, and other spooky sewing-room surprises.

Come in Costume!

Put together your most creative, spooky, funny, or sewing-inspired look and enter our Stitch or Treat Costume Contest.

Handmade costumes are especially encouraged, but everyone is welcome to participate. Whether your costume is stitched from scratch, cleverly altered, or simply frightfully fun, we would love to see it!

Come ready to show off your Halloween spirit and cheer on your fellow contestants.

Everyone Is Welcome

This event is designed for every experience level—from curious beginners to lifelong sewing enthusiasts. Bring a friend, introduce someone new to sewing, or come meet other creative people in the community.

This isn’t a sales event. It’s an opportunity to explore, learn, make something, ask questions, and enjoy Halloween with people who share your love of creativity.
